PRM20406 Certificate II in Asset Maintenance (Fire Protection Equipment)

 

DELTRA Australia has delivered nationally-recognised PRM20406 Asset Maintenance courses since 2002.   We have a proven track record - ALL of our students have successfully met the technical requirements of their Qld BSA licence (fire contractor and fire occupational) after completing our course.

DELTRA Australia's PRM20406 Asset Maintenance courses are designed to assist you to get your qualification as quickly as possible.  Rather than spending hours reading workbooks or completing online tasks, or even finding the time and self-discipline to do it in the first place, we cover all the knowledge and skills in focused blocks of time which results in the momentum to get the course done.

The PRM20406 Certificate II in Asset Maintenance course is divided into two stages.  To achieve the qualification, students must complete core units (Stage 1) and at least one elective bank (Stage 2).  Depending on the elective bank chosen, students may wish to apply for a fire contractor or occupational licence through the Qld Building Services Authority.

* The length of each stage is determined by the elective bank chosen.  Students are required to submit a short workplace project following the completion of the elective stage.

PRM20406 Stage 2 Option 1 - Elective Bank Portables (3 days)

Note:  This elective bank fulfills the technical requirements for Qld BSA fire contractor and occupational licensing in:

  • Portable Fire Equipment & Hose Reels - Licence Class 2 Install & Maintain
  • Fire Hydrants & Hose Reels - Licence Class 2 Inspect & Test
  • Fire Detection, Alarm & Warning Systems - Licence Class 3 Maintain (Extra Low Voltage)
  • Emergency Lighting - Licence Class 2 Inspect & Test

PRMPFES10B:     Inspect, test & replace fire hose reels in the field

PRMPFES11B:     Install portable fire extinguishers, fire blankets & battery powered
                           smoke alarms

PRMPFES37A:     Inspect & maintain fire hydrants

PRMPFES26B:     Inspect, test & maintain emergency/exit lighting systems

 

 

PRM20406 Stage 2 Option 2 - Elective Bank Passive (2 days)

Note:  This elective bank fulfills the technical requirements for Qld BSA fire contractor and occupational licensing in:

  • Passive Fire Protection (Fire Doors & Shutters) - Licence Class 2 Inspect & Test
  • Passive Fire Protection (Fire Collars, Penetrations & Joint Sealing) - Licence Class 1 Certify*

PRMPFES35A:     Inspect & test hinged fire & smoke doors

PRMPFES36A:     Identify passive fire & smoke containment products & systems

PRMPFES39A:     Inspect & test passive fire & smoke containment products & systems

 * The completion of REP1 is an additional requirement for this licence class.  DELTRA Australia does not deliver REP1.

Students may wish to complete more than 1 elective bank. The additional elective bank is charged accordingly.

  

Course Structure

The PRM20406 Certificate II in Asset Maintenance course is both theoretical and practical in structure.  Training is conducted in the classroom.  Students are provided with a student manual, and are required to perform practical activities throughout the duration of the course.

Students are required to achieve competency in both written and practical assessment.  A workplace project is also required to be submitted following the completion of the course.

Light refreshments are provided during all Asset Maintenance courses.
