DELTRA Australia offers a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process for those students who believe that they can provide evidence to demonstrate competence in a qualification, or individual competency units within a qualification.
Our RPL procedure is a follows:
- Information is provided to students regarding course outline, content, assessment requirements and RPL policy via DELTRA Australia's website.
- Application for RPL is made by the student using the online Recognition of Prior Learning Application Form and paying the RPL Initial Application Fee.
- Initial support and counselling is provided to individual students on receipt of the RPL Application Form as to whether or not they may be eligible for RPL.
- If the student is eligible for RPL assessment, sufficient evidence is collected by the student and submitted to DELTRA Australia for consideration. Evidence may include documents such as a resumé, certified copies of academic records, course outlines, competency reports, employer statements, work samples, certified copies of current accreditation/licences/registration etc.
- Verification will be conducted by DELTRA Australia to ensure that the documentation submitted is authentic. This includes contacting Referees and organisations which have issued the student's qualifications.
- Individual student interviews may be conducted to obtain additional information. Interviews may be conducted in person or via telephone.
- Assessment of prior learning is conducted using the most appropriate assessment strategy.
- Post-assessment guidance is provided to the student, including advice on steps required to attain RPL, or further gap training to be conducted in order to meet the required competencies.
- Written notice of the outcome decision will be forwarded to the student within 28 days of completion of the RPL process.
- Certification upon the attainment of the required competencies.
